I have guests arriving today for an early Christmas! I’ve very excited to have my Dad coming to visit today! We plan to go junking and work on projects! He has always been my inspiration and it’s great to get to see him more often now that we live closer!
My Time Saving Short Cut
This year I’ve taken a few short cuts to get everything ready for our first Christmas in Texas.
For the past several years I have been using a flocked artificial tree and I loved it. This year was to be it’s last, sadly some of the lights have burned out and I thought I would try a real tree again. Well, in this house the only way to find room for any tree was to remove furniture and I didn’t have a place to put any furniture, so I took a short cut and got a smaller tree! It’s real and doing very nicely!
I used my same apple green and red that I’ve been using for the last few years, minus any Star Trek ornaments (I told my hubby they were too heavy, wink! wink!) and voila a perfect short cut for this Christmas!
The skirt you see is really a table cloth my mom had made back in the 70’s while we were living in the Philippines! I’m really happy to have it and the matching napkins that I’ll be showing in another post soon.
This smaller tree started out as a short cut this year, but I really am enjoying it! I think next year the tree will be larger, but for this year, a smaller tree is just fine!
Are you taking any short cuts to give yourself more time to spend with family and friends? I highly recommend it!
Merry Christmas! And until next time!
