Hi Friends and I hope you had a Merry Christmas and are off to an Amazing 2017!
I didn’t want to post this too soon and now it appears I have waited too late! So please forgive my goof, I didn’t want to skip this one! While my Dad was here we collaborated on some tool boxes that we filled with yummy treats! He delivered these in South Louisiana last week. We had such a great time and so much fun on his visit! I may have already mentioned that in a previous post! But I can’t say it enough! Thank you sweet hubby for bringing me closer to my family! It has been so great!
Enough sappy stuff!! We made several of these little boxes with dowel handles from scrap wood. We sanded them and stained them with a dark stain.
Here is my dad painting the already stained tool boxes with watered down acrylic paint. Using the water helps the paint go on so smooth and allows you to control the intensity of the color.
We did the dowel handles last after realizing painting and staining is so much easier without the handle attached!
Remember we did these in one day in addition to all our shopping, junking and other projects! So taking pictures took a back seat to all the fun we were having!
Ready for Treats!
Thankfully, my Dad sent pictures so I could use them in this post! Otherwise I would’t have gotten to share these little cuties! I filled them with all my favorites from Trader Joe’s. The peppermint ones are my favorites and my Dad loves the chocolate covered marshmallows!! Do you have a favorite Trader Joe’s treat? All the recipients seemed to enjoy them and I know my Dad and I will be collaborating again soon!
I’m getting geared up for getting serious in 2017! What do you have planned?
