Lamp Table Makeover
Hello Everyone! I’m so excited today to show you this sad little table I gave a makeover and is now welcoming guests on my front porch. Would you call it a porch or maybe just the front entry is better?
Free is always good!
I went to visit my dad a few weeks ago and he was cleaning out his shop. This table was on its way to the dump and I claimed it. Before I could even get it in the car, we had to take off the pole lamp that was attached. Sad to say that part did make it to the dump! I wish I had thought to take pictures of the table with the lamp. That would have been better but I’m really new to this and just excited to have any pictures at all.
Free materials – Even better!
Using some fence pickets, my favorite kind of wood, because you can find them for free! I made an upside down tray to cover the ugly plastic top. Another couple of pickets I cut down to line the bottom of the magazine holder. We don’t want your things slipping through the bottom.
I did spray paint a couple of the pickets before assembling them to make it a little more interesting. After it was assembled I gave it a good sanding with my orbital sander, and then 2 coats of Annie Sloan clear wax. I love the way it makes the wood smooth, even old rustic fence pickets.
I glued down the table top, or lets say I plan to glue down the top!
This little cutie is now sitting on my front porch holding my pumpkins. Next year I plan to fill the bottom with fall foliage but today I was running out of time.
I don’t know where it will go after Thanksgiving, but for now it’s perfect!
