Today I’m going to share with you a really quick Spring Chalkboard Photo Frame Makeover! I found this little guy at one of my favorite thrift stores, it was in almost perfect condition. This was a composite type material but it still worked great.
How to make a Spring Chalkboard
This was the first time I used Fusion Mineral Paint and I was so glad I tried it. I purchased my paint from Melanie at Lost and Found Decor. She has a really nice booth at the Antique Company Mall in McKinney, and she has a great website so you can buy her paint and check out her great makeovers and tutorials!
This paint is great because it needs very little prep and doesn’t require a wax or sealer, unless you are using it on a piece that will get a lot of wear.
The color is a nice bright white and it goes on very smoothly. I did two coats to get good coverage of all the details and then sanded it down to make all the details pop!
I painted some backing board with Chalkboard paint and then used my handy Logan Point Driver to secure the backing into the frame. If you haven’t used on of these you should!! It makes securing art, chalkboards, anything you want into the frame very easy! Here is the affiliate link if you want to see it!
I cover the back in scrapbook paper or wrapping paper to give it a pretty finish, add a hanger and that’s it!
Spring Chalkboard Reveal
It looks like I should take some lettering classes!! Or use a stencil, but you get the idea!
I don’t think this one is going to the Etsy Store or in my booth (if that ever happens). Who knew it would take so long to find a booth space!!!
If you are like me and have a little Spring Fever, now is the time to start working on some of your spring projects, it will be here before you know it!!
How do you Decorate for Spring? Please tell me, I’d love to hear!!
And if you like my makeover,
I hope you’ll Pin It!!
Until next time!!
