I try to post twice a week but last week that didn’t happen. Instead of writing Friday I was out having fun Junking! So now I’m a little behind my self imposed schedule of posting twice a week. That shouldn’t matter to you, but it helps me stick to my goals and because of that I decided to write about my Friday fun adventure! I went junking at some new places and some of my favorites. I found a variety of great stuff and talked to some amazing people! This will be short and sweet!
Here are a few of the items I found on my hunt! The gates will be turned into a pair of twin headboards. I plan to use the ladder for shelves.
These faucet handles will become decoration for birdhouses and anything else I can find. The man at this booth was so nice he threw a few in for free.
I thought this was a great idea for displaying tap handles. And because I know a fabulous beer brewer I thought this idea might come in handy one day!
I’ve had a metal grate similar to this one for a very long time. I really like all types of metal pieces. This was just one of the 280 booths at the High Street Antiques Mall in Plano. It was my first time there and I will definitely go back.
The most interesting and fun thing I found on my junking trip was this display piece you can see on the ground. Many people asked me what it was as I was carrying it around, but no one seem to know its’ purpose. If you do, please let me know!
And yes, I did haul all those pieces out of the Third Monday Trade Days in McKinney all by myself. The vendor was kind enough to lend me his dolly but wow, it was tough!
I’m considering a space to sell some of the items I’m making, remaking and up-cycling! My house is filling up with projects and I don’t want to stop creating! So while I was there I spoke to several friendly booth owners about the venue and their experiences, it was great to hear their stories. I was also encouraged by the number of years most had participated in the Third Monday trade Days and everyone was helpful and kind to this newbie! I wish I had collected business cards so I could ask some additional questions.
I also thought this indoor space at the Plano Antique Mall might be a possibility. It has some rustic features already built in and might be perfect for Rickety Pickets!
I’m still gathering data, but hope to have a solution soon. If you have any helpful info please let me know.
Louisiana Road trip!
Next week I’ll be in Louisiana visiting my sister and Dad and spending some time junking! My Dad is remodeling and I need to see the progress and help make some finish decisions. It should be great fun. You may or may not hear from me next week but I’ll be back soon!
I have a laundry room makeover to share with you next time!
