Ready for another Fall Tablescape?
Thanks you for stoping by to see my fall tablescape I put together just in time for Thanksgiving! Hubby and I are leaving tomorrow to spend time with my Sister and her family and friends in Louisiana for Thanksgiving. But I couldn’t resist setting a pretty tablescape before we leave!
As you may already know, we have just moved into our darling town home and this is the first and only Thanksgiving we will have at this house, and we won’t even be here! lol Oh well! Memories are made everywhere you go!
I did want to show you my dining room and show off this pretty fall tablescape I did, just because! I tried to use things that I already had on hand but I did get the turkey votives yesterday on sale because it’s already Thanksgiving week! Sometimes it pays to procrastinate! Did you notice I could’t find white candles so the green ones had to work! Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned it!
Favorite Pieces in my Dining Room
I thought I would tell you a little about some of the items in my dining room as we go. This table and the 6 matching chairs were discovered in a little thrift store in Palos Verdes, CA last summer. What a great deal for $60. I painted the table top in Annie Sloan Old White but the chairs I just cleaned up and used dark wax to cover the scuffs and scratches. All the chairs but one were very sturdy, and now after a little glue and some clamps that one is sturdy too! I changed out the fabric on the chairs for the second time and this time I think it will last a while!
I still love the china cabinet my dad made for me back in the 80’s. It only recently got the fresh paint. I was always a little afraid to paint it, but now I’m so glad I did. Annie Sloan chalk paint was great for this piece and after waxing with clear I accented all the crevices with the dark wax. The handles were updated, again! I may have been afraid to paint it, but I had no trouble changing the hardware out with every new house!
The tray and container with the fall arrangement were made by me and the tiny pumpkins are courtesy of nature! I hope to share more of my creations soon.
My Hubby’s sweet, sweet sister sent us these wine glasses for Christmas two years ago. It’s so nice to be able to highlight them in this fall tablescape.
I hope you enjoyed looking at my dining room today. I really enjoyed sharing it with you! Well secretly I am a little apprehensive, but who’s going to read all this and find out! 😉 So now I need to take off on one last trip to the grocery before I start packing. Ugggg.
Best Wishes to all my Family and Friends!
Before I go, I wanted to say how grateful I am for my big extended family and all my friends both old and new. My greatest wish is that each and every one of you have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving 2016.
Until next time,
